Freelancer ID Verification

Understand the importance of completing your freelancer verification on Loxala, including what documents are required and how to go through the process to boost your credibility on the platform.

Eligibility for Verification

  • Minimum Requirement: You must have at least $100 in your available account balance to initiate the verification process.
  • Once eligible, you’ll see this message on your dashboard:
    “Identity verification will be available once your account balance reaches $100.”

Step-by-Step Guide to ID Verification

1. Start Verification

  • When eligible, a “Start Verification” button will appear on your dashboard.
  • Click it to begin the process.

2. Confirm Your Name

  • Enter your First Name, Middle Name (if applicable), and Last Name exactly as they appear on your official ID and bank account.
  • Click “Confirm” to lock the information.
  • Note: Once confirmed, your name cannot be changed.

3. Scan the QR Code

  • A QR code will be displayed on your screen.
  • Use your phone’s camera or scanner app to continue on mobile.
  • Alternatively, click “Continue in Browser” if you prefer to finish on desktop.

4. Upload Your Identification Document

Choose one of the following:

  • National ID Card (front and back)
  • Driver’s License (front and back)
  • Passport (photo page only)

Guidelines:

  • Ensure your document is clear, in focus, and fully visible.
  • A green outline means your document is correctly aligned.
  • Errors will prompt a retry if the image is blurry or incomplete.

5. Language Support

Loxala’s system currently supports verification documents written in Latin-based languages, including:

  • English
  • Spanish
  • French
  • German
  • Portuguese
  • Italian

Unsupported Scripts (require translation or alternative verification):

  • Arabic
  • Chinese
  • Cyrillic (e.g., Russian)
  • Greek
  • Hebrew
  • Korean
  • Tamil
  • Thai

6. Take a Live Selfie

  • Use your device’s camera to take a real-time selfie.
  • Make sure your face is well-lit, clearly visible, and unobstructed (no hats, masks, or sunglasses).

7. Complete the Process

  • The system will automatically validate your documents and selfie.
  • If successful, you’ll receive:
    “Congratulations! Your account is now fully verified.”
  • If there’s an issue, you’ll see an error message and a “Retry Verification” button.

Verification Timeframe

Most verifications are processed in real time and take just a few seconds. In rare cases, additional review may be required.

  • Use Clear, High-Quality Images: Avoid glare, blur, or cropped edges.
  • Double-Check Your Name: It must exactly match your ID and payment account.
  • Use Supported Languages: Documents must be in a supported language or include a certified translation if required.
